The Tightrope of Democracy

The word Democracy is thrown around a lot lately. Discussions about keeping it, losing it, and comparing it to other established forms of government that have existed throughout the history of mankind dominate our News sources, and our minds, if we are paying attention. Simply defined, it is the ability of the People of a nation to direct the government, rather than the government ruling the People.
